Our current definition of success is econometric growth, the obsession with GDP and personal income. This model is extractive and unsustainable; it generates material wealth for some while creating universal spiritual poverty, environmental destruction, and social fragmentation.
The current mainstream academic discourse revolves around a utilitarian solution for this econometric problem. The academic discourse doubles down on secular solutions and directs the idea of Prosperity to the pursuit of happiness and or emanate siloed ideas of common good. The monotheistic idea of Prosperity defiles this and argues the idea of Prosperity must serve humanity not just one part of society, but civilisations till the end of time.
The structural root for prosperity is not an accumulation of numbers; it is an alignment of dimensions. Universal prosperity recognises that true flourishing requires the health of the entire ecosystem (mundo level). It shifts the goal from “Value Extraction” to value circulation, rooted in the laws of almsgiving (zakat) and divine blessing (barakah).
The model operates through 8 interconnected pillars, ranging from ethical foundations to global cooperation. It proves that by centring God rather than the individual, we create the ultimate society or one community (ummah).
