Civilisational Transformation
Theory U: developed by Otto Scharmer (a senior lecturer at MIT) is an organisational management transformation methodology, that maps the journey from reactive downloading of past patterns to generative action through deep introspection and divine presence.
Modern problem-solving is reactive and linear. We see a problem, apply an old solution, and wonder why the same results recur. This is because we operate from the level of habitual thought and ideological programming. We are trying to fix the future with the tools that destroyed the past.
Real change requires going deeper before going forward.
Theory U when juxtaposed on civilisation in a monotheistic-framework, requires five movements:
- Seeing: Transcending the econometric focus.
- Sensing: Perceiving theistic naturalism (the signs of God in the world).
- Presencing: Divine Rejuvenation, connecting to the source of highest future possibility.
- Creating: Restructuring for higher purpose.
- Evolving: Moving toward Utopia through collective purification.
By applying Theory U, we stop rushing into “innovative” fixes and instead practice Presencing. We allow divine inspiration to inform our designs and models, ensuring that our creations are not just new, but aligned.
